The painting that is supposed to be a portrait of Lucrezia Borgia has been determined to not be her at all. This would not be a portrait of a noble woman but a courtesan or a prostitute. Lucrezia was neither of these things. She was a matron of Italy many times over and an official potrait showing her breast would have been scandalous.
